1 dead, 1 injured in Ga. hospital shooting
Mayor: 1 dead, 1 injured in Ga. hospital shooting; suspected shooter in custody

FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. (AP) ' The mayor of a northwest Georgia town says someone opened fire at a hospital, killing one person and injuring another before being taken into custody.

Fort Oglethorpe Mayor Lynn Long says the Friday afternoon shooting at the Hutcheson Medical Center was part of a domestic dispute, but he didn't know anything about the relationship of the people involved.

Long says the motive for the shooting was not immediately known but a suspect was being questioned by police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Long did not know the suspect's name or if any charges have been filed.



The injured person was taken by air to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., is near the Tennessee state line, about 10 miles from Chattanooga.
