About 100 attend vigil in Maine's largest city marking missing toddler's 2nd birthday
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) ' About 100 people have gathered in Maine's largest city to mark the second birthday of a girl who disappeared from her father's home days before Christmas.
The crowd joined the family of Ayla Reynolds in singing happy birthday to her during a vigil Wednesday evening in Portland's Monument Square. The family handed out birthday cake.
The event featured music including Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger," to which Ayla liked to dance.
People presented keepsakes with Ayla's name of them to her mother, who lives in Portland.
Ayla's father has told police he last saw her the night of Dec. 16 when he put her to bed at his home in Waterville, 75 miles northeast of Portland. Police have been searching for her, but there's been no sign of her and no arrests.
