4 dead after standoff in southeast Ohio
Sheriff: Ohio man killed himself, son and 2 in-laws; brother says wife is terminally ill
By The Associated Press

LOGAN, Ohio (AP) ' An Ohio sheriff says investigators believe a man shot and killed his wife's two sisters and his son before killing himself.

Hocking County Sheriff Lanny North told reporters some sort of family squabble led to Monday's deadly shooting near Logan, about 50 miles southeast of Columbus.

Deputies were called to a house around 5 p.m. for a possible hostage situation. The sheriff says when they stormed the home hours later they found the gunman dead on the front porch and the other bodies inside.

A Kentucky man told The Columbus Dispatch the shooter was his 63-year-old brother and was stressed over caring for his terminally ill wife.

The newspaper says the wife's son from another marriage escaped. The wife, who has cancer, was not shot.
