AP Interview: After 9/11 heroics, 'America's Mayor' has business success, political stumbles
By The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) ' Rudy Giuliani's leadership during the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks made him a hero to many Americans and earned him the nickname "America's Mayor."

' ????? But Giuliani proved a flop as a presidential candidate in 2008. And the former New York City mayor has never managed to recapture the mantle of greatness he found in what he calls the worst experience of his life.

?????????? Giuliani spoke to The Associated Press in a wide-ranging interview.

?????????? He says his most vivid memory of the day was watching a man plunge to his death from the 101st floor of the World Trade Center's north tower.

?????????? Giuliani has enjoyed a lucrative career in the private sector since leaving office in 2002. But he says he's "a little sensitive" to complaints that he profited from his 9/11 fame.
