Actor Ngoombujarra of 'Australia,' more films dies
David Ngoombujarra, Aborigine whose films included 'Australia,' 'Rabbit-Proof Fence,' dies

SYDNEY (AP) ' David Ngoombujarra, an Aborigine who acted in "Australia," ''Rabbit-Proof Fence" and other Australian films, has died.

The 44-year-old actor was found in a park Sunday and died at a hospital in Fremantle, near Perth on Australia's west coast. Police have not determined the cause but said his death was not suspicious.

Ngoombujarra was one of Australia's best-known indigenous actors.



"Australia" star Hugh Jackman said Tuesday on Twitter he was saddened by Ngoombujarra's death. He tweeted, "his laugh, warmth and humanity" would live on.

Ngoombujarra won Australian Film Institute awards for "Blackfellas" and "Black and White."

Other films include "Ned Kelly," ''Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles" and "Kangaroo Jack."
