Air France-KLM says board to meet Monday amid reports CEO will go
PARIS (AP) ' An Air France-KLM official says directors of Europe's largest airline will hold an extraordinary board meeting later Monday, amid reports the company's chief executive will be replaced.
An Air France-KLM spokeswoman said the board meeting in Paris would take place around 4 p.m. (1400 GMT). She declined to comment on a report in French daily Les Echos that said the airline's board was meeting to choose a replacement for CEO Pierre-Henri Gourgeon.
She spoke on condition of anonymity citing company policy.
Gourgeon, 65, has led both the Air France airline and the Air France-KLM holding company since January 2009. He was given a new four-year mandate in July. Since then, reports have suggested Gourgeon and the airline's board were in dispute over who would replace him as CEO of the French part of the holding.
