Alaska police say 1 dead in shooting at hotel
Alaska police say 1 dead shooting, Anchorage hotel locked down in search for suspect
By The Associated Press

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) ' Alaska police say that one person has been killed in a shooting at an Anchorage Hotel.

Lt. Dave Parker says police locked down the Millennium Hotel Saturday night and are searching for a suspect.

Media reports say half a dozen police cars and two ambulances are there and officers armed with rifles are covering exits.

Parker tells The Associated Press that police have identified the suspect. No motive has been established, but he says investigators have determined that the victim had been targeted and that the attack wasn't random.

He says police have also surrounded the suspect's residence in Anchorage.

Parker says hotel guests have been asked to remain in their quarters and are being evacuated as police methodically search the building room-by-room.

No one else has been injured
