Meet Eddie Argos, the "depressive dandy" at the helm of British punk (ish) rock outfit Art Brut. Along with his wiley guitarist Ian Catskilkin, the two recently spent a day tromping around inside Ghostbusters (or the city that reminds them of the movie, at least) in support of their latest album Brilliant! Tragic!. While in town, we convinced the pair to pop by our humble abode for a quick conversation on the subject. Also on the agenda were musings on the differences between UK and US audiences (score one for the US!), the joy of rocking out, the genius and inspiration that stems from working with Black Francis, and Eddie's own transition from his now familiar, talky approach to vocals, to something that actually resembles singing. Top of the pops!
