Andy Roddick loses to Juan Monaco at Key Biscayne
Hangover effect: After beating Federer, Roddick loses to Monaco in 4th round at Key Biscayne
By The Associated Press

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) ' Andy Roddick lost his fourth-round match Tuesday at the Sony Ericsson Open to Juan Monaco of Argentina, 7-5, 6-0.

Less than 24 hours after beating Roger Federer, Roddick struggled with his serve and looked lethargic in rallies. He had only eight winners and 37 unforced errors.

Thanks to Miami's large Argentine population, Monaco enjoyed strong support from the stadium crowd, with fans singing in Spanish between points. He swept the final eight games to reach the quarterfinals, where his opponent will be another American, Mardy Fish.

Despite Roddick's defeat, he'll improve on a ranking of 34th, his lowest since 2001.

Monaco, 27, is seeded 21st. Last month he won Vina del Mar for his fourth career title and first since 2007.
