Arizona couple found tied up and burned remembered at Phoenix memorial service
PHOENIX (AP) ' An Arizona couple found tied up and burned beyond recognition in an affluent Phoenix suburb was remembered tearfully by their three grown children at a memorial service.
Steven Shapiro said Tuesday that there was never a harsh word spoken between his parents. He also says there was never a single moment he wasn't completely aware of how much his father loved his mother.
The bodies of Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro were found on Jan. 30 in their stylish home in the affluent Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley.
The murders of the well-to-do philanthropists in their 70s are the first in Paradise Valley since 2004 and have shaken neighbors, police and the town mayor.
