Aunt: Apartment delay upset Ohio stabbing suspect
Aunt says Ohio stabbing suspect was upset by delay in getting apartment, not being kicked out
By The Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ' An aunt of the suspect in stabbings at an Ohio office building says the man had recently moved in with her and was frustrated because his plans to get his own apartment had been delayed.

John Mallett is accused of injuring four people in Columbus this week before being shot by police. He is charged with four counts of felonious assault. Police say the attacks appeared random.

His father has said the 37-year-old is schizophrenic and might have been stressed after his aunt told him to move out.

But Arletta McCrimmon tells The Columbus Dispatch ( ) she didn't tell Mallett to move out. She also says she didn't see any signs of violence before the attack.

Mallett had lived in Nashville, Tenn., before moving to Ohio.
