Authorities release ID of medic who left threat forcing evacuation of San Clemente High School
By The Associated Press

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (AP) ' Orange County authorities have identified the Navy medic who left a note claiming he planted explosives at San Clemente High School as 22-year-old Daniel Morgan.

Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino says Morgan is white, wears glasses, has short hair and is driving a white Jeep Wrangler with a black top and 5-inch tires, with license number 6NKZ930.

About 3,200 students and 180 staff members were evacuated at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday while military and law enforcement bomb squads went through the school room by room.

Morgan was last seen at 5 p.m. Tuesday. He failed to show up for work Wednesday, prompting a search of his barracks and the letter was found.
