In campaign speech in Iowa, Biden assails Romney as 'consistently wrong' on manufacturing
DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) ' Vice President Joe Biden is painting likely Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney as a foe of U.S. manufacturing jobs and in favor of sending jobs overseas.
During a speech in Iowa, Biden mocked Romney for allowing state contractors to set up call centers in India when he was governor of Massachusetts. He also criticized the business Romney once headed for moving hundreds of jobs overseas after acquiring companies in the 1990s.
Biden told about 450 workers and invited guests at PCT Engineered Systems in Davenport that Romney had been "consistently wrong" on economic policies as a businessman, governor and presidential candidate. He said manufacturing is coming back under President Barack Obama's watch.
The Republican National Committee dismissed Biden as a "junior campaigner-in-chief" spouting empty rhetoric.
