Body ID'd as NY doctor wanted in lover's slaying
Body found in brush ID'd as that of Buffalo, NY, surgeon sought after girlfriend's slaying
By The Associated Press

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) ' Police say a body found in Buffalo, N.Y., is definitely that of a trauma surgeon who was the subject of a nationwide manhunt after the killing of his ex-girlfriend at a hospital.

Police had been searching for 49-year-old Dr. Timothy Jorden since Wednesday morning, when 33-year-old Jacqueline Wisniewski was found shot to death in a stairwell at the Erie County Medical Center.

Jorden was a former special forces soldier. His body was found Friday not far from his suburban home near Lake Erie.

A Buffalo Police Department spokesman says Jorden apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
