Bomb at US base in Afghanistan wounds 77 Americans
NATO says 77 American troops wounded in truck bombing at US base in eastern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) ' NATO says 77 U.S. troops were wounded in a suicide attack against American base in eastern Afghanistan.

NATO said says that the Taliban truck bomb that exploded late Saturday at the gate of the American base in eastern Afghanistan also wounded 25 Afghan civilians. Spokesman Maj. Russell Fox said Sunday that all the international troops at the combat outpost are American. Officials say the massive blast killed at least two Afghan civilians, including a three-year-old girl. NATO says no foreign forces were killed in the attack on Combat Outpost Sayed Abad in Wardak province.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) ' Two separate roadside bombings have killed 10 Afghan civilians on the eve of the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The local government in Paktika province says in a statement that one blast occurred around midday on Saturday, when a vehicle struck a bomb on a road in Barmal district near the Pakistan border.

The statement says two women and four men were killed, while another nine civilians were wounded.

Then a car hit a bomb in northern Kunduz province on Saturday night.

Regional police spokesman Lal Mohammad Ahmadzia says four people were killed in that blast, including two children and one woman.
