Byblos today is believed by many to be the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Only a third of the once grand Roman Theatre of Byblos has survived to this day. It was built in 218 AD and its floor once contained a mosaic of the god Bacchus, now at the National Museum of Beirut.
