California AG declines review of mansion death
California attorney general declines drug tycoon's request to review mansion death
By The Associated Press

SAN DIEGO (AP) ' California Attorney General Kamala Harris has denied a pharmaceutical tycoon's request to review investigators' finding that his girlfriend killed herself at his historic mansion near San Diego.

The attorney general's office said in a letter released Thursday that it reviews cases for very limited reasons. They include allegations of gross misconduct by local investigators and a local law enforcement agency's request for help.

Jonah Shacknai asked for a review of a San Diego County Sheriff's Department finding that his 32-year-old girlfriend Rebecca Zahau (za-HOW') killed herself two days after Shacknai's 6-year-old son accidentally fell under her watch. The boy later died.

Shacknai said he had no reason to doubt the finding but that a review might put to rest questions raised by Zahau's family and others.
