Caucuses in Kansas, Wyoming next for GOP hopefuls
Kansas, Wyoming offer 52 delegates combined in caucuses
By The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) ' Mitt Romney and his rivals are competing in caucuses in Kansas and Wyoming, the latest contests in a grinding campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.

In all, 52 delegates to the Republican National Convention are at stake.

Romney is showing strength in Wyoming but skipped campaigning in Kansas, as did Newt Gingrich. The former House speaker is concentrating on primaries next Tuesday in Alabama and Mississippi.

Rick Santorum and Ron Paul both campaigned in Kansas in the days leading to the caucuses.

Romney is far outpacing his rivals with the support of 440 delegates in the AP's count. Santorum has 181, Gingrich 107 and Paul had 46.

A candidate must win 1,144 to clinch the Republican presidential nomination at the national convention in Tampa next August.
