Conn. governor announces $20 million deal bringing NBC Sports and other entities from NY
By The Associated Press

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) ' The state of Connecticut is lending $20 million to NBC Sports in a deal creating 450 jobs in the state as the sports entertainment company leaves New York.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced the deal at a news conference in Stamford Tuesday. Malloy, who was mayor of the southwestern Connecticut city before being elected governor last year, said several NBC sports entities will move to Stamford beginning in September 2012.

The terms of the loan weren't immediately available.

The network is bringing NBC Olympics, NBC Sports Digital, VERSUS and the Comcast Sports Management Group, which oversees the NBC Sports Group's 14 regional networks.

NBC Sports Group Chairman Mark Lazarus said the entertainment company is creating one 32-acre site, allowing it to build numerous studios and anticipate growth in the future.
