Coroner identifies 3 dead in Calif. home where 2-year-old boy was found bound and gagged

BANNING, Calif. (AP) ' Officials have identified the three people who were found dead in a Southern California home where police also discovered a 2-year-old boy who had been bound and gagged.

The Riverside County coroner's office said Wednesday that a family friend found the bodies of 42-year-old Demetrius Hunt, 57-year-old Cynthia Smith and 33-year-old Natasha Biggers in a Banning home on Tuesday.

Two of the victims were the parents of the toddler. The coroner has listed the three dead as homicide victims.

Banning Police Chief Leonard Purvis says his office is not yet releasing how they died.

The boy will be placed into protective custody after he recovers from minor injuries.

Banning is about 85 miles east of Los Angeles.
