Delegates arrive for French reporter's release
By The Associated Press

SAN ISIDRO, Colombia (AP) ' A delegation has arrived at a remote hamlet in Colombia to receive a French journalist who has been held captive by rebels.

It includes French diplomat Jean-Baptiste Chauvin and former Colombian Sen. Piedad Cordoba.

Journalist Romeo Langlois was taken by rebels on April 28 when they attacked troops he was accompanying on a cocaine-lab eradication mission. Three soldiers and a police officer died and Langlois was wounded in the left arm.

The delegation pulled up to a guerrilla roadblock at midmorning Wednesday just outside the southern Colombian hamlet of San Isidro in two Toyota Land Cruisers with Red Cross markings

There was no sign yet of Langlois or leftist rebel commanders. About two dozen guerrillas patrolled the streets.

Residents were preparing a barbeque and farmers arrived from the countryside
