Demjanjuk asks judge to reconsider citizenship bid
Convicted Nazi war criminal Demjanjuk wants judge to reconsider ruling denying US citizenship
By The Associated Press

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) ' An attorney for convicted Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk (dem-YAHN'-yuk) is asking a federal judge to reconsider his decision denying a bid to regain his U.S. citizenship.

The judge in Ohio ruled against Demjanjuk in December. The retired autoworker from suburban Cleveland had argued that a newly discovered document suggested an incriminating document against him was a Soviet fraud.

Demjanjuk's attorney said in court papers filed Thursday that the judge hasn't seen all of the documents supporting the attempt to win citizenship.

Demjanjuk was convicted by a German court that found he had served as a guard at the Nazis' Sobibor death camp in occupied Poland. He was sentenced to five years in prison.
