Drum of cement held mom's remains; husband charged
NJ man charged with killing wife whose remains were found in 55-gallon cement-filled drum
By The Associated Press

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) ' New Jersey authorities say a woman whose remains were found inside a 55-gallon cement-filled drum might have been strangled by her husband.

Hudson County prosecutor Edward DeFazio tells The Jersey Journal that investigators believe 32-year-old Randy "Amanda" Lehrer was killed shortly after she was last seen on Aug. 17.

Her husband, Steven Acuna, has been charged with her murder and remained jailed Sunday on $1 million bail. Lehrer's remains were found Friday in the apartment building where the couple and their infant daughter lived.

DeFazio says investigators believe the killing was the result of domestic violence.

Acuna had said his wife went missing after an argument. He relocated to Toms River after Lehrer disappeared. He was arrested there Friday.

It wasn't clear if Acuna had retained an attorney.
