Ex-New England mob boss, age 84, to be sentenced in strip club extortion plot
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) ' The former boss of the New England Mafia is set to be sentenced for his role shaking down Providence strip clubs.
Luigi "Baby Shacks" Manocchio (muh-NOCK'-ee-oh) faces between 5 years and three months and 6 years when he is sentenced on Friday in U.S. District Court in Providence.
He pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy earlier this year in a case that has so far ensnared nine people described by prosecutors as mob leaders, members and associates.
Another man who was indicted alongside Manocchio, Raymond "Scarface" Jenkins, is also scheduled to be sentenced. He pleaded guilty to extortion conspiracy for his role in a mob plot to shake down a used-car salesman for $25,000.
The 48-year-old Jenkins faces between two years and nine months and three years and five months.
