Families meeting on mob girlfriend's possible plea
Families of reputed Boston mobster's alleged victims meeting on possible plea from girlfriend
By The Associated Press

BOSTON (AP) ' Family members have arrived at the federal courthouse in Boston to meet with prosecutors to discuss a possible guilty plea from reputed mobster James "Whitey" Bulger's longtime girlfriend.

Steve Davis, brother of alleged Bulger victim Debra Davis, says he was told by a victim advocate that Catherine Greig (grehg) is considering pleading guilty to conspiracy to harbor a fugitive.

Davis said Monday at he entered the courthouse that he wouldn't mind if Greig avoids trial by pleading guilty. He says it would save taxpayers money and the result would be the same as a guilty verdict.

Bulger headed the notorious Winter Hill Gang and was a FBI informant. He's charged for his alleged role in 19 murders. Bulger and Greig were captured in June in Santa Monica, Calif., after 16 years on the run.
