Fugitive father sought for murder in drowning death of NJ toddler found in car seat in creek
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) ' Authorities have filed a murder charge against the fugitive father of a 2-year-old New Jersey girl whose body was found in a park creek still strapped into her car seat.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ocean Township resident Arthur Morgan III remains at large despite a dragnet involving 13 law enforcement agencies including the FBI.
Monmouth County prosecutors announced the charge Wednesday afternoon.
The slain toddler, Tierra Morgan, lived in Lakehurst with her mother. She was having a court-approved visit with her father Monday, but he never took her back.
Her body was discovered Tuesday in Wall Township, about 20 miles north of where she lived. An autopsy shows she drowned.
A warrant from Ocean County charging Morgan with child endangerment and interference with custody was issued before the girl's body was found.
