Feds: 2 met underage victims on same online site
Prosecutors: Ind., Calif. men accused of enticing minors to commit lewd acts used same website
By The Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ' Federal prosecutors say an Indiana man accused of coercing teenage boys into performing sexual acts over the Internet and a California teacher charged with exchanging nude photos with girls as young as 13 met their alleged victims on the same website.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says it has received hundreds of complaints about the site, omegle.com.

The website offers users random, anonymous one-on-one chats with strangers. It says it's not for use by children under 13 or under 18 without permission of a parent or guardian. It also warns users not to act "inappropriately," although it acknowledges that others may.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zach Myers says anonymous chat sites can leave users vulnerable because they don't know what the other person may be doing.
