Free, Kosier join Cowboys practice as observers
Returning free agents Free, Kosier back at Cowboys practice, but only to watch
By The Associated Press

SAN ANTONIO (AP) ' Offensive linemen Doug Free and Kyle Kosier have signed their contracts with the Dallas Cowboys and showed up to practice as observers.

Free and Kosier were among five veteran free agents whose re-signings were announced Saturday. The others include safety Alan Ball, receiver Jesse Holley and cornerback Bryan McCann.

The players can't suit up until the new collective bargaining agreement is completely finalized and the league year begins. That is expected to happen Thursday. In anticipation, the Cowboys released an updated training camp schedule that gives everyone a day off Wednesday.

Free and Kosier were unrestricted free agents. Ball was restricted, while the Cowboys held exclusive rights on Holley and McCann.
