Furyk, Simpson tied for US Open lead in final round at foggy Olympic Club

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) ' Jim Furyk and Webb Simpson are tied on the back nine in the final round of the U.S. Open.

Furyk saved par with a 30-foot putt on the 12th hole before following with a bogey to fall into a tie with Simpson at 1 over in a foggy final round Sunday at The Olympic Club.

Michael Thompson shot a 3-under 67 to take the clubhouse lead at 2 over. The 27-year-old was the runner-up at the U.S. Amateur at Olympic Club in 2007.

Graeme McDowell and Ernie Els were a shot back of the leaders.

McDowell was 3 over through 13. Els was even par through 15.
