Google's NYC headquarters to give temporary home to new applied sciences campus
NEW YORK (AP) ' Google's New York City headquarters is set to become the temporary home of the city's new applied sciences campus.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Monday that the company will put aside 22,000 square feet of office space for the new CornellNYC Tech program starting this July.
Google Inc. won't be charging the school for the space.
The free rent arrangement will last up to 5 years, or until the school's permanent home on Roosevelt Island is completed, whichever comes first.
The school will have the option to expand into a total of 58,000 square feet in Google's headquarters.
