Ind. House Dems plan to stay out of session
Ind. House Dem leader: Party lawmakers will stay out of the chamber until demands are met
By The Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ' Indiana's House Democratic leader says party lawmakers will keep themselves out of the chamber until certain demands are met over a Republican right-to-work bill that was blocked last year by their five-week boycott.

House Democratic Leader Patrick Bauer says they want the GOP to hold more public hearings on the bill. When asked how long they'll stay out, he said the schedule was not in Democrats' hands.

Most Indiana House Democrats had been no-shows on the floor Wednesday when the Republican speaker tried to start the new session.

The absence of most Democrats left the House short of the two-thirds members present to continue.
