Indian agencies scramble for leads on briefcase bombing that killed 11 outside New Delhi court
NEW DELHI (AP) ' Indian agencies are scrambling for leads on the briefcase bombing that killed at least 11 outside a courthouse in the capital.
Investigators are looking into an email sent to several TV news channels allegedly by a Pakistan-linked extremist group. It wants to determine whether it is a genuine claim of responsibility or a fake.
The email demanded that a Kashmiri man convicted in a 2001 attack have his death sentence commuted. It also threatened to target other courts.
Police in Kashmir say investigators have traced the email to an internet cafe in the disputed Himalayan region's Kishtwar area and are questioning the owner.
Authorities are also searching various locations in Kishtwar but police would not specify if they have identified any suspects.
