Jackson doc's defense to finally question expert
Attorneys for Jackson doctor to finally question key prosecution expert after propofol display
By The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) ' Defense attorneys for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death will finally have their chance Friday to question a key prosecution expert.

Dr. Steven Shafer has questioned by prosecutors for three court sessions, laying out his theories for why he thinks Dr. Conrad Murray is responsible for Jackson's death. On Thursday, Shafer walked jurors through various theories about how Jackson could have died because of a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol.

He says the only viable theory supported by the evidence is if Murray placed Jackson on an IV drip and left him for some period of time.

Attorneys for Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter, have been waiting for the chance to challenge Shafer's testimony. Afterwards, the defense team will begin calling their own witnesses.
