Relatives of victims of possible NY serial killer plan vigil to mark 1 year since bodies found
OAK BEACH, N.Y. (AP) ' Relatives of some of the women found along a New York beach highway a year ago are planning a vigil for their loved ones.
Melissa Cann, whose sister was killed, and Lorraine Ela, the mother of another of the victims, say they plan to gather with supporters at Oak Beach on Tuesday. That's not far from where their relatives were slain.
Police looking for a missing New Jersey prostitute found the first of what would become 10 sets of remains on Dec. 11, 2010. Two days later, three more sets of remains were found. The missing New Jersey woman has yet to be found.
Police believe one killer is responsible for the deaths. The first victim vanished in 1996; the most recent in September 2010. No suspects have been named.
