Lawyer: Member's injury had upset suspect's unit
Lawyer: Unit member gravely injured day before soldier accused of going on Afghan rampage
By The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) ' The Seattle lawyer representing the U.S. soldier accused of killing 16 Afghan civilians says soldiers in the suspect's camp had been very upset that somebody in his unit had been "gravely injured."

John Henry Browne spoke Thursday evening at a news conference in Seattle. He says the incident that troubled the soldiers in the camp happened the day before the soldier is accused of going on a shooting rampage.

Browne says the soldier from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, near Tacoma, had no prior events in his Army dossier indicating misbehavior.
