Loughner enters court for mental health hearing
Shooting rampage suspect arrives in Tucson courtroom for hearing on mental status
By The Associated Press

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) ' The man accused of wounding Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in a deadly shooting rampage has entered a Tucson courtroom for a hearing to determine whether he'll spend more time undergoing psychological treatment.

A thin-looking Jared Lee Loughner entered the courtroom Wednesday wearing a white T-shirt and khaki pants.

Loughner returned to Arizona on Monday after spending four months undergoing mental health treatment at a Missouri prison facility after a judge found him mentally unfit to stand trial.

During his last courtroom appearance May 25, Loughner was whisked away by U.S. marshals after an angry outburst.

A judge required Loughner's presence at Wednesday's hearing, even though his lawyers argued traveling would be disruptive for their mentally ill client. Loughner wanted to attend so he could see his parents, who live in Tucson.
