Mass. student defends Norwegian massacre suspect
Mass. student kicked off Catholic campus after saying he backs Norwegian massacre suspect
By The Associated Press

BOSTON (AP) ' Officials at a Roman Catholic college in Massachusetts say a student who has written supportive letters to the Norwegian massacre suspect won't be on campus "for the foreseeable future."

A spokeswoman for Assumption College in Worcester (WUH'-stur) wouldn't say Friday whether senior Kevin Forts would still graduate in May.

The school released a statement saying that Forts has a right to his opinion but that his conduct is under review.

The spokeswoman says that review includes comments Forts made to a Norwegian news outlet backing actions of Anders Breivik (AHN'-durs BRAY'-vihk).

Breivik has admitted to the killings but denies criminal guilt as he stands trial in Norway for the July slayings of 77 people.

In an interview with Norwegian news outlet VG Nett, Forts called the children's deaths "a necessary political sacrifice that is not necessary again."
