Miami Gardens police search for man in bomb scare from abandoned hearse
By The Associated Press

MIAMI (AP) ' The man Miami Gardens police wanted to question in connection with a bomb scare is in custody.

The Miami-Dade Corrections Web site shows that 28-year-old Lee E. Lewis was being held Saturday at the detention center. Police had wanted to question him in connection with Friday's bomb scare from an abandoned hearse that snarled traffic for hours.

A police flyer said Lewis was wanted on weapons violations and was considered armed and dangerous.

The hearse was found on a street beneath the Palmetto Expressway. When officers looked inside, they saw some firearms or other weapons. Authorities have not yet said what exactly was found, but it was enough to call in the bomb squad.

Police say Lewis recently served time for grand theft auto and drug charges.
