Micron settles lawsuit with Oracle over accusations of inflated microchip prices
BOISE, Idaho (AP) ' Micron says it has settled a lawsuit filed by Oracle that alleges the Idaho memory chipmaker and other companies artificially inflated prices for microchips.
The 2010 lawsuit claimed that Micron and the other companies conspired to raise prices from 1998 through 2002 in violation of federal and state antitrust laws.
Micron Technology Inc. announced the settlement late Thursday without providing details.
It says its effect will be a net loss of $58 million above what the company previously reported for the second fiscal quarter of 2012.
That brings the total net loss to $282 million, or 29 cents a share, on revenue of $2 billion.
Micron says the full effects of the settlement will be detailed in regulatory filings.
Business software maker Oracle Corp. is based in Redwood City, Calif.
