NH town dedicates annual fair to girl, 11, found dead in river; dad cries during remarks
By The Associated Press

STEWARTSTOWN, N.H. (AP) ' A small northern New Hampshire community has dedicated its annual town fair to an 11-year-old girl whose body was found in a river after a weeklong search.

About 300 people gathered Friday in a small Stewartstown park where candlelight vigils were held for Celina Cass. Instead of canceling the fair, residents dedicated the 35th annual Stewartstown Day celebration to Celina.

Celina's father, Adam Laro, cried during remarks at the brief dedication and had to be assisted from the tent. His mother, Marcia Laro, says the family is trying to cope.

The fifth-grader was missing for a week before her body was found Monday in the Connecticut River, which divides New Hampshire and Vermont. An autopsy didn't provide the cause or manner of her death. Investigators have labeled her death suspicious.
