By The Associated Press

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) ' A former Rutgers University police detective says he found a student's webcam pointed directly at the bed of the roommate he's accused of spying on.

Detective Douglas Rager (RAY'-ger) testified Monday in the trial of former student Dharun Ravi (dah-ROON' RAH'-vee).

Ravi is charged with 15 criminal counts, including invasion of privacy and bias intimidation. He's accused of using the webcam to spy on roommate Tyler Clementi's intimate encounter with another man.

Clementi, jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge in September 2010. The death came days after the intimate encounter.

Rager says he noticed the camera was pointed toward Clementi's bed when he went to the room to collect evidence after Clementi's suicide.
