NTSB gets involved in investigation into taxiway accident between 2 jets at Boston airport
BOSTON (AP) ' The National Transportation Safety Board has joined the investigation into an accident between two jets at Boston's Logan International.
The accident occurred Thursday night when the wing of a large moving passenger jet clipped the tail of a smaller aircraft in front of it on a taxiway. Both planes were taken out of service. One person was treated at a hospital.
An agency spokesman said Friday the NTSB gets involved when an "incident" is upgraded to an "accident" because of either a loss of life or severe property damage. The NTSB will work with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Flight 266 from Boston to Amsterdam hit Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 4904, heading to Raleigh-Durham.
