NYPD finds 8 kids taken from child welfare agency
Authorities find 8 children who police say were abducted by their mother
By The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) ' New York City police say eight children taken from a child welfare agency by their mother last week have been found.

Police said in a release early Tuesday that the children ' who range in age from 11 months to 11 years old ' were in good condition. Their parents, 28-year-old Shanel Nadal and 34-year-old Nephra Payne, were apprehended in Harrisburg, Penn.

Police say Nadal of Manhattan was visiting her children at the Forestdale agency in Queens on Sept. 19 when she took them. They suspected then that she might have been traveling with the children's father.

The couple apparently lost custody of the children in 2009, though it wasn't immediately clear why.
