New power outage numbers brings total to 643,000 CA households without power during windstorm
LOS ANGELES (AP) ' According to newly revised figures the total number of Southern California households and businesses that suffered power loses following last week's ferocious windstorm was 643,000.
Edison had 434,000 customers without power, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power had 205,000 and Pasadena Water and Power had 4,000. More than a week after the Nov. 30 storm, power has been restored to most households, although an estimated 75 Pasadena customers remain without electricity.
Edison spokesman David Song says the company was initially using a 226,000 figure, which was the largest number of households without power at any one time during the storm. The new 434,000 figure is the total number of households that were without power at some point because of the storm.
