No charges against NYPD boss' son after rape claim
Prosecutors say no charges against NYPD commissioner's son after woman's rape accusation
By The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) ' Prosecutors say the New York Police Department commissioner's son won't face charges in connection to a rape accusation.

Authorities had been investigating a woman's claim television anchor Greg Kelly raped her. Kelly is the son of NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly. He denies any wrongdoing.

The chief of the Manhattan district attorney's office sex crimes unit says in a letter sent Tuesday to Kelly's attorney Andrew Lankler an investigation determined "no criminal charges are appropriate."

The woman told police last month she met Kelly for drinks in October and he assaulted her.

The prosecutor's letter says Kelly and the woman were interviewed as part of the investigation.
