Obama says Romney is stuck with conservative views
Obama to Rolling Stone: Romney can't disavow conservative positions taken during primary race
By The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) ' President Barack Obama tells Rolling Stone magazine that rival Mitt Romney can't disavow the conservative views he embraced during the Republican presidential primaries.

Obama says he too is struggling against public skepticism because of the slow economic recovery.

In an interview appearing in the Rolling Stone issue that hits newsstands Friday, Obama avoids characterizing Romney as a flip-flopper, a common criticism Romney faced during the GOP primary.

Instead, Obama tags Romney as a candidate who willfully embraces the Republican Party's most conservative views.

The president says his own political burden is describing the progress that has occurred during his administration and how, if sustained, it could lead to economic security. He says skepticism is understandable because, in his words, "things are still tough out there."
