Ohio State plans Friday scandal response to NCAA
Ohio State planning response Friday to NCAA over football memorabilia scandal
By The Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ' Ohio State plans to submit its response to the NCAA on Friday regarding a scandal that started with football players selling memorabilia or trading them for tattoos and led to coach Jim Tressel's resignation and quarterback Terrelle Pryor's departure.

The university is responding to several questions listed in the NCAA's notice of allegations received by Ohio State in April.

Each incriminating point made by the NCAA will be addressed by Ohio State, which has said it will make its response public Monday after blacking out the names of current student-athletes.

Athletic director Gene Smith said Thursday that his department had worked hard to meet the deadline and was on schedule.

Four players will miss the first five games of the season as a result of the scandal.
