Ohio landlord pleads no contest in carbon monoxide deaths of 4 tenants, faces up to 20 years
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) ' An Ohio landlord has entered a no-contest plea in the deaths of four tenants who were overcome by carbon monoxide fumes while they were sleeping.
Steven Snow entered the plea Friday to reckless homicide charges. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
Investigators say he didn't intend to harm anyone, but that he knew the dangers of running a generator inside when he gave it to a family living in his rental home near downtown Toledo last March.
Snow found the bodies of the 39-year-old woman and her three children the next morning. A coroner ruled all four died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Snow had told The Associated Press on the day of his indictment that he didn't know the family planned to stay in the house overnight.
