Okla. officials continue search for infant's body; couple arrested on child abuse charges
By The Associated Press

TULSA, Okla. (AP) ' Investigators in rural eastern Oklahoma are searching for the remains of a baby girl.

Authorities say the baby was born to a young girl whose parents were arrested on child abuse charges this week. The girl told authorities her father helped her deliver the child at home before he told her it was dead and buried it behind a goat pen.

Authorities used a backhoe Friday to dig for answers at the property outside of Poteau, Okla.

The girl's parents were arrested on child abuse and endangerment charges. One of the nine siblings taken into state custody says she and another sibling had been sexually abused by their father.

The husband and wife are being held at the county jail on $275,000 bond.
