Police: Missing Ariz. girl most likely kidnapped
Sergeant says Ariz. girl missing 6 days was most likely kidnapped; 'somebody knows something'
By The Associated Press

PHOENIX (AP) ' Police looking for a 5-year-old Arizona girl who has been missing six days say they now believe she was most likely kidnapped.

Jahessye (JES'-ee) Shockley was last seen by her three older siblings last Tuesday at her Glendale home while their mother was running an errand. Police have no suspects, evidence or promising leads.

Glendale police Sgt. Brent Coombs says if the girl just walked away, police would have found her by now. He says: "Somebody knows something."

Coombs says the girl's mother, Jerice Hunter, is not a suspect in her disappearance despite her comments to reporters that she feels she is being interrogated.

Coombs says police simply have conducted an initial interview of Hunter and follow-ups, per standard procedure.
